Spencer Scharf – Award winning artist giving lessons in Findlay Creek

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERASpencer Scharf is an award-winning finger-style & slide guitarist with smooth tenor vocals. A seasoned & charismatic performer who delivers an energetic, upbeat mix of folk rock & blues, he’s had solo gigs at Bluesfest, CityFolk & a wide variety of venues including the Governor General’s & Irish Ambassador’s residences, City of Ottawa and many private events. His performances feature guitars, banjo, mandolin, ukulele, harmonica & keyboard. He’s a regular at Hunter’s Public House, FarmTeam Cookhouse, Ralph’s Sports Bar (Bank St & Laurier St locations), the Royal Oak (Meadowbrook & Orleans locations), and at the Findlay Creek Family Fun Day & Breakfast with Santa.

Spencer earned his Honours Bachelor of Music degree from Carleton University, where he was on the Dean’s Honours List and was awarded a lifetime membership in the International Golden Key Honours Society for his outstanding placement and excellence in the music program.

Spencer gives lessons in Findlay Creek on voice and all the instruments he plays, including:

  • Guitars of all kinds – 6 string, 12 string, 8 string baritone & electric 12 string
  • Dobro / slide guitar
  • Banjo
  • Ukulele / Guitalele (6 string ukulele tuned like a guitar)
  • Mandolin
  • Piano / keyboard
  • Harmonica
  • Voice

Your own instrument is required, except for piano / keyboard. Rates are $25 for a 30 minute lesson and $50 /hr.
